Board Structure

This page describes the ROE PTO Board structure.  For information regarding Board meetings, please see “Board Meeting Minutes“.


Past President

First Vice President

  • Performs all the duties of the President in the President’s absence and other duties as outlined for the Vice President.
  • Serve on all committees as requested.

Vice President – Internal Relations

  • Board Grade Reps and room parents report to this Vice President.
  • Regular meetings held to continue to foster unify, collaboration and communication within the grades, classes, with the teachers, etc.
  • Coordinates community-building activities for the school and ROE families.
  • Chairs Movie Night and works with President to coordinate Back-to-School activities.

Vice President – Public Relations

This position will oversee the chairs on the following:

  • Webmaster and its committee
  • Yearbook Co-chairs
  • ROE News Chair
  • Marquee Chair
  • School Directory Chair and committee

Vice President – Development

This position will oversee the following:

  • Annual Fund Campaign
  • Online Auction
  • Spring Parent Social

Vice President – Community Development

  • Corporate Underwriting & Sponsorships
  • Annual Fund Community Challenge

Vice President – Treasurer

This position is responsible for issuing payments, making deposits and fulfilling reimbursement requests on a weekly basis on behalf of the organization.  This position works with the Budget & Finance Director to prepare the annual budget and provide financial updates to the Board.

Budget & Finance Director

This position is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the organization in QuickBooks, working with the VP – Treasurer to prepare the annual budget and providing financial updates to the Board. Oversees the Budget and Finance Committee with the VP-Treasurer.


This position is responsible for preparing the minutes of the PTO meetings.

School Life Director

This position will oversee the chairs on the following:

  • ROE Spirit Store
  • School Supplies
  • Nature Center

Ways and Means Director

Oversees the following positions:

  • Affinity Programs Chair
  • Book Fair Co-chairs
  • Carnival Co-Chairs
  • Fun Run Co-Chairs
  • Picture Day Coordinators

Specialist Relations

Serves as the PTO liaison with Library, Science, Music, Art, P.E. and Spanish Specialist teachers.

Teacher Appreciation Directors (2)

Arrange three of the monthly teacher appreciation lunches. Help coordinate back-to-school week goodies, staff holiday gifts, Halloween bake-off.  Plan and coordinate teacher appreciation week activities.  This position is shared and has only one vote.

Volunteer Coordinators (2)

Maintain and update online volunteer sign-ups for school wide activities. Recruit volunteers (through ROE News, separate emails, grade-level asks and personal asks).  This position is shared and has only one vote.

Grade Level Representatives (2 per grade for grades K-4th, 3 for 5th grade)

Host one teacher appreciation lunch each school year. Host three grade-level play dates (summer, fall and spring). Communicate regularly with grade level parents about school and PTO activities and needs.  Support and cheer-lead fundraising activities, including participation in annual fund, online auction and carnival. (Each grade level position is shared and has only one vote)
