On the ballot in this year’s election is Proposition 1, which impacts HISD funds. Prop 1 asks voters to authorize HISD to send HISD tax revenue back to the state for re-distribution to other school districts. The ballot language reads: “Proposition 1 – Authorizing the board of trustees of Houston Independent School District to purchase attendance credits from the state with local tax revenues.”
