Interested in helping with an event or only available during a certain time of the year? Consider helping with an event such as Movie Night, Spring Carnival, Book Fair, Picture Day, Musical Costumes and Props or Fun Run. Have a flexible schedule throughout the year? Consider joining committees with ongoing needs like Nature Center, ROE Spirit Store or Yearbook. See the list below.

Please remember that ALL volunteers in HISD must register EACH YEAR through VIPS! Once your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email; once your background check is completed, you will receive a status email; lastly you need to present an ID at the front desk to be re-activated EACH YEAR. Once you are CLEARED to volunteer, you are eligible to volunteer throughout HISD for that year only. Register today at www.houstonisd.org/vipslogin.
Affinity Programs
Help with collecting Box Tops, organizing Spirit Nights, and arranging other fundraising opportunities with community partners.

Barnes and Noble Fall Book Fair
Come help us greet our ROE families and provide book fair information at Barnes & Noble located in the River Oaks Shopping Center on West Gray in the Fall.
Corporate Underwriting and Sponsorships
Help secure underwriting and sponsorships for the PTO.
Dads Club
Help plan and organize fun events with other ROE dads, provide support at various ROE events and attend special Dads Club nights.

Help with the Annual Fund Campaign.
Earth Day
Help plan and organize this fun outdoor event at the ROE Nature Center.

Help plan and organize this fun, international-themed night.

Help with pre-orders and distribution to the classrooms before school starts.

Help coordinate students and paperwork on the assigned individual and classroom picture days.
Spirit Store
Help manage the ROE spirit store at events.
Spring Book Fair
Help with setup, restocking, sales, and promotions at the onsite book fair.
Spring Carnival
Help organize this fun day for the whole family.
Spring Parent Social
Help organize, advertise, and coordinate the parent-teacher social in the Spring.
Yearbook Volunteers
Help by taking pictures, tagging names, covering school wide events, working on layout and editing and sales.
General Volunteers
Be on our email “shout out” list to help when possible throughout the year. Your name may be sent to committee chairs when they need extra help at events.
